Source Verification

Western Cape Times requires a minimum of two independent sources for all factual claims. Government statistics are verified against primary publications from Statistics South Africa, the Western Cape Government, and relevant municipal authorities. Financial data is cross-referenced with the South African Reserve Bank, the JSE, and audited corporate disclosures.

Corrections Policy

Errors of fact are corrected immediately upon verification. All corrections are appended to the original article with a timestamped correction notice. Material corrections that alter the substantive meaning of an article are flagged with a prominent correction header.

Editorial Independence

Western Cape Times maintains strict editorial independence from commercial interests. Sponsored content, where published, is clearly labelled and separated from editorial output. The editorial team operates independently of the network's commercial and lead-generation functions.

Data Privacy

Western Cape Times complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). User data collected through the Forensic Rot-Check portal is processed solely for the purpose of generating performance audit reports and is not shared with third parties without explicit consent.
